Primary Audience Research Task
You are required to do some primary audience research when planning your opening sequence. Find out about your audience before filming your sequence. I have embedded a YouTube clip that explains how to use google docs to create a survey which can be emailed directly your target audience. Once complete you will receive some excellent data in the form of graphs, which you can analyse and refer to when continuing to plan and film your sequence. This should ensure that you are always considering your target audience throughout the production process.
Treatment Sheet Example
Below is an example of a TREATMENT SHEET. This document will collate all of your ideas for your film sequence detailing elements such as costumes, locations and themes of narrative.
Creating a script
This document is useful when it comes to creating a script - particularly the detail of types of shot in the script. You must consider which shots you will you use carefully. That's why we have done all of the analysis of opening sequences!

Audience Research
An obvious starting point for this task is the following site: http://www.bbfc.co.uk/. However you are expected to do more than just copy the information from this site. Have a look at the box-office totals from your genre and see if you can find a breakdown of the audience that watches films from your chosen genre.
Secondly you need to create an audience profile of a typical fan of your genre, consider age, gender, class, ethnicity, image and other cultural interests.
